Mediterranean gatherings, encounters of musical traditions and cultures of the Mediterranean world. In the ancient melodies of the Sephardic, the Spanish Jews, music cultures from Europe, North Africa and the Near East penetrated.
Asamblea Mediterranea reveals in the music of the Sephardes an echo of mutual fertilization and peaceful coexistence of Jews, Muslims and Christians in medieval Spain.
Asamblea Mediterranea are seven musicians who originally specialized in completely different styles of music. They arrange and compose their music from tunes and texts of the Jews in Spain, North Africa, Turkey and Greece, which have been handed down to us over generations.
