ONLINE COMPETITION 2020

The Nuertingen International Guitar Festival had to be postponed to 2021. Due to the Covid 19 pandemic we decided to offer some online activities. One of them is the 1st Nuertingen International Online Guitar Competition (category professional).

RULES:

1. The competition is open to any classical guitarist (born 1984 and younger) under the following terms and conditions.

2. All rounds are made through videos.

3. Repertoire:

  • 1st round: 12-15 minutes of music. Free programme!
  • Final Round: 17-20 minutes of music. Free programme! Pieces performed during 1st round cannot be repeated.

4. Required video for each round

  • Videos must be recorded exclusively for the competition. The following print out should be visible at all times (download here). Before playing the competitor says to the camera his/her name and announces the repertoire.
  • The recording must show the performer clearly.
  • The video should be recorded in “one take”. Interruption of the recording is not allowed, as well as editing and playback.
  • Please be aware of the duration! Videos shorter (or longer) than the required time cannot be evaluated (even if it is only a few seconds)!
  • The number of participants is limited to 45.

5. Procedure and Dates:

  • Download and fill in the application form​ (download here) and send it to km@gitarre-nuertingen.de together with a document to state the date of birth.
  • Pay the registration fee (30 €) via bank transfer to the following account:

    or via PayPal an km@gitarre-nuertingen.de
  • Upload a YouTube video for Round 1 until November 15.
    Make sure the video setting is first UNLISTED. Send the YouTube link to: km@gitarre-nuertingen.de.
  • November 27, 2020: The finalists will be announced
  • Finalists upload final video until December 15 and send the link to: km@gitarre-nuertingen.de
    Please prepare the videos with the same method like in round 1
  • The results will be announced on December 20, 2020.
    The decisions of the jury are final and subject to no right of appeal.

6. By registering to participate in the competition, participants accept the terms and conditions.

7. Participation in the competition implies to transfer to Nuertingen International Guitar Festival  the rights of reproduction and distribution, of photographic and recording material, under the legislation on Intellectual Property, through the media considered, all non-profit.

Only the German version of these rules is binding.

8. Prizes

1st prize:   600,-€

  • Participation in EuroStrings Project: Invitation to act in a minimum of 8 festivals of the EuroStrings platform and participate in the EuroStrings guitar contest 2021.
  • Concert at the Nuertingen International Guitar Festival 2021.

2nd prize:  400,-€

3rd prize:  300,-€

News: … and the winners are

After a highly demanding final of eight participants the jury has chosen the following winners of this year’s competition, which was held online for the first time.

  • 1. Prize: Bianca Szalaty (Poland)
  • 2. Prize: Louison Petit (France)
  • 3. Prize: Eugen Treichel (Germany)

The jury cordially congratulates the winners and says thankyou to all the participants for their outstanding achievements. This new competition format has indeed been very challenging for each of the young participants. We are looking forward to hopefully hearing from you performing live very soon and to see you healthy and in good mood at the next Nuertingen International Guitar Festival from August 1st – 7th, 2021.
