The LAGQ will present itself in Nürtingen for the first time with a new lineup! The Brazilian guitarist Douglas Lora has enriched the Grammy Award-winning LAGQ since 2023 with his compositions and his knowledge of the Brazilian music tradition.

In this year’s traditional matinee concert under the direction of Mandy Bahle, the focus is on the convergence of various arts. The orchestra will present a mix of familiar and modern sounds. Look forward to experiencing its impact!

In the family concert, we will present the two winners of the 2023 Guitar Festival’s Bambini Competition. Luis Ren and Yuyan Zhang impressed the jury with their refined technique, musicality, and joy of playing. For all curious minds aged 5 and up.

This evening, two internationally renowned guitar greats will share the stage. Both as artists and educators, they are among the world’s best. Margarita Escarpa is an internationally sought-after artist and lecturer. In 2021, she was appointed as a professor at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna. Tilman Hoppstock is not only an outstanding performer but also a musicologist and editor of numerous works.

The Italian guitarist Andrea de Vitis is part of the new generation of professors. His international success was crowned with his appointment at the Mozarteum. The couple Annika (mandolin) and Fabian Hinsche (guitar) are known as Mare Duo and are among the leading duos of their kind.

The English guitarist Laura Snowden, a student of Julian Bream, captivates with virtuoso playing and expressive compositions. The Amadeus Duo has been one of the most successful guitar duos on the international scene for over 30 years.

Michael Langer is distinguished by his unique style, in which he masterfully blends pop music, classical, jazz, and Latin. As a composer and arranger, he has published numerous works and arrangements that have become standards, particularly in educational literature.

As one of the most successful guitarists of our time, David Russell has inspired multiple generations of guitarists and consistently thrilled audiences as a regular guest in Nürtingen.

The guitar virtuoso Peter Graneis has made his way from Stuttgart to international stages, captivating audiences with innovative interpretations. The Aleph Guitar Quartet is a leading ensemble for contemporary music, known for its sonic innovation and setting standards in modern chamber music.

The JGO, under the direction of Helmut Oesterreich and Christian Warnecke, won the 2022 competition of the Bundesmusikverband Chor & Orchester e.V. and is touring around the world with innovative programs and the support of the Landesmusikrat.

Rostyslav Holubov is the winner and audience award recipient of the 2023 International Guitar Festival competition. Together with his teacher, the renowned Polish guitarist Prof. Tomasz Zawierucha, a concert of the highest caliber can be expected!

PALE BLUE DOT – Matthew McAllister and Matthew Cochran perform the soundtrack of the film “Interstellar” by Hans Zimmer to galactic projections. Definitely a special concert experience for all the senses!
