Guitar Festival 2016
Starting July 29, 2016 the Nuertingen International Guitar Festival will take place for the 12th time. The new management, composed of the Guitar Duo Klingeberg-Montes as Art directors and Julia Dosch as Organisational director, together with a small team of volunteers have compiled a program of absolute superlatives!
This year, the festival will be heralded by the Nuertingen Chamber orchestra with Walter Schuster as conductor. Rafael Aguirre, Michael Langer, David Russell and the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet are among the already-known faces in Nuertingen who will again delight us with their presence. New artists like the Flamenco icon Rafael Cortés, the young Korean guitarist Kyuhee Park and the couple Marco Tamayo and Anabel Montesinos will present themselves for the first time to our audience. The festival will be framed by master classes, workshops, lectures, guitar comparisons and a full-week exhibition.
Our international future professional guitar players will compete in the highly paid competition. Beside the official jury evaluation, we will introduce the audience prize for the first time at our festival: The audience of the competition finals may vote on who will visit the International Guitar Festival 2018 again to give a concert.
In addition to the regular competition, the "Young Talents" have the opportunity to compete in the SENNER-Junior-Competition.
New at the festival: For the first time, there will be a Family concert and the workshop GuitarKids for children aged between four and nine years. Also, you must not miss the midnight concert "Nosferatu" with the Open-Source-Guitars!
A very important part of our festivals always has been the Get-together after the concerts every evening . During this leasure time, the participants as well as the artists and the visitors can come together to chat and exchange experiences. We are happy we could arrange the "Schupfnudel" in the Hotel BestWestern for these occations.
We are looking forward to a great festival and would be delighted to welcome as many guitarists, fans and visitors as possible!
